More friendly, vibrant classical music community

Chamber Music of the Ozarks (CMO) is a newly formed organization created by pianist Tomoko Kashiwagi, a recipient of the 2023 Community Activator grant from the Mid-America Arts Alliance’s Artists 360 program. Kashiwagi believes that chamber music is the most intimate form of music-making. With chamber music, a small ensemble performs with only one person to a part and without a conductor. Therefore, everyone is equally essential, which makes the entire experience especially powerful for artists and audiences alike.

The mission of Chamber Music of the Ozarks is to bring people closer together through chamber music. Northwest Arkansas (NWA) musicians of various skill levels and ages will be invited to participate and engage in playing their instruments through various programs. CMO supports NWA professional musicians to present ambitious and personally meaningful concerts and actively encourages collaboration between musicians and various community organizations. Through smaller, more intimate venues, concert audiences can hear and see the interaction between musicians and contribute to the energy of the performance. Chamber Music of the Ozarks’ vision is to become the organization where everyone can belong – both musicians and music lovers.

Chamber Music of the Ozarks is a presenting partner of SoNA Beyond and a fiscally sponsored project of SoNA, the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas.
